Abstract: In this overview session on developing for Azure, we will demonstrate the capabilities of the Microsoft cloud platform, discuss the impact that designing for the cloud has on all stages of the service lifecycle as well as suggest emerging patterns for cloud based applications.

Architect Evangelist Greg Willis, Microsoft
Greg Willis is an Architect Evangelist for Microsoft in Sydney with over 17 years commercial experience in the media, telecoms and finance industries. Born and bred in England, Greg worked in several countries before settling in Australia. He joined Microsoft Australia in 2004. Greg's previous experience includes architecting high-traffic (and in other cases high-hype) web sites in the halcyon days of Web 1.0 before the web world generally worried about such trivial matters as business models, revenue etc. He now focuses on the challenges of Software + Services, particularly distributing applications to the cloud in the context of enterprise architecture.
