The organizers of the JAOO Australia events is a joint venture between Queensland University of Technology, Bedarra Research labs and Trifork A/S, the organizer of JAOO Denmark for more than a decade.
Since 1996, Trifork has organized JAOO - a conference for software developers, architects and project managers. JAOO is an annual event in Aarhus, Denmark which attracts more than 1000 participants.
Trifork has gone global with conferences in UK, US and Australia keeping the independency of large companies and using the international network of speakers, researchers and trendsetters in the IT industry.
The idea to do JAOO came about when the managers at Trifork were
dissatisfied with existing conferences and at the same time wanted to
create a forum where we could mingle with the "rock stars" of software
development.
JAOO originally stood for "Java and Object-Oriented" and was originally
focused on Java-based technologies. Today it has evolved into a more
in-depth conference with a wider set of content such as .NET and
Ruby-based technologies along with a focus on the softer side of
software development: process improvement, patterns, and enterprise
architecture.
QCon London is an annual conference organized by Trifork and InfoQ.com
launched in March 2007. There is no other event in the UK with similar
opportunities for learning, networking, and tracking innovation
occuring in the Java, .NET, Ruby, SOA, Agile, Ajax, and architecture
communities.
By creating events "for developers, by developers" Trifork has
delivered internationally recognized conferences, JAOO and QCon, that
are highly regarded by both participants and speakers.
